Young reporter fashion show at QSI Phuket
I am here at Quality School International in Phuket with the students holding a Junk Fashion Show with recycled products. Lets go see whats happening. Students at Quality School International or QSI in Phuket proudly presented a show, not an ordinary show but a Junk Fashion Show as part of their activities the school organized during their Earth Week at the school. Students created costumes or other fashions out of items that would normally be thrown away by recycling the rubbish, from their creative ideas. They used newspapers and boxes which later were made into hats and earrings. They also used cereal boxes to make bracelets, noodle cups to make rings, chip and plastic bags to make hats, bottles or cans to make hair clips, gum wrappers to make shirts, candy boxes to make shoes, pizza boxes to make socks, phone cards to make skirts, tin foil to make dresses, bubble wrap to make gloves, Styrofoam to make purses, tissue paper to make super hero attire, magazines to make wigs; so many great ideas!! They wanted to promote an environmentally friendly change at school. How did they do this? The teachers got the students to start thinking about what they are throwing away and why. The Junk Fashion Show was a way for children to be creative with trash materials and think about what they are tossing in the bin.
